Big Bow Cards

STEP-BY-STEP CHRISTMAS 2018.
STEP THREE: MAKING CARDS

I made some more progress with my Step-by-Step to Christmas Crafting this weekend. I'm still on Step 3 and Making Cards. And my latest batch of cards is all about the bows.

I made cards with big bows.
And cards with little bows.
And Paper Bag Envelopes to present them.

I've made these especially for a very special group of ladies.
They are not going to be posted. So when making them, I was able to take as much creative freedom as I liked.
And I just adore them!

I'm going to begin with my big bow cards : )
I've made 4 of these cards. They are quite print-heavy as you can see from the credits below.

And I began by layering the printing of a sheet of the main 'Christmas Lettering' Sentiments onto the 'Jingle Bells Text' Paper Design. I printed directly onto Card. Like this ...

TECHNIQUE: HOW TO LAYER PRINTING
Print the Paper Design onto smooth white card or paper. Once printed, pop the sheet back into your printer and print a sheet of the Sentiments on top.

I cut it into 2x A6 wide strips, and then into pieces 8cm high, with the sentiment positioned in the middle.

Next I cut my big dotty backing paper. I cut it in half down the length, so into 2 x A6 wide strips. Then cut at 155mm on each one. That gave me 2 different sized pieces, and 2 of each. Just for variety.

I cut my card bases from 5"x7" Card Bases. They measure 115mm x 160mm, so in-between 5"x7" and A6. Just enough to leave a white border around my backing paper. I like that.

I trimmed the scalloped edge from an old scalloped edge card base. And I cut out my bows.

To put the cards together, I glued the backing paper to my card base, layered the main sentiment with dimensionals, then the scalloped trim, the companion sentiments with staples or dimensionals and finished with the bows.

I'll show you my little bow cards in a post very soon.
Next, I'd like to show you how I made the Paper Bag Envelopes : )

Love Liz xx
