Little Bow Christmas Cards

Do you remember when I made my plan for Christmas Crafting this year? I wanted to make …

40 Cards
6 Cards, Gift Bags & Tags for tween-aged girls
6 Sweetie Gifts and 6 Gifts Bags & Tags
A few new Tree Decorations
2 Table Favours
A couple of Cards, Bags & Tags as extras ... just in case : )

Well I've made 3 of these little Bow Christmas Cards. And they make up 3 of the final 5 Cards I needed to make to achieve my first goal - 40 Cards.

In my next post I want to show you how I folded the Envelope Wraps I made for them. They really are the simplest thing! These ...
Today I want to tell you how I made my Cards.
I’m using 130mm White Square Card Bases.
And I prepared all the elements before I put my Cards together.

So … first my Card Mats.
I printed the 'Silver Cloud' paper from 'Berry Bright' onto 240gsm Smooth White Card. I cut it into half, vertically, each one A6 size in width. And I trimmed one of the pieces into 3 x 99mm square Card Mats.
Then I added my Gilding Flakes.
I applied PVA adhesive to one side of the mat, smeared it with my finger & added some random spots of adhesive around the rest of the Mat. I sprinkled on my Gilding Flakes, gently pressed them down & left them to dry.

Whilst they were drying I prepared by Sentiments & Bows.
I die-cut 3 small bows from scraps of pink card.
Then, I made 3 Snowball trims by threading 2 Mini Snowballs onto individual lengths of Crochet Cotton & knotting each end to secure them. The finished length is approx. 15cm. And I wrapped one trim loosely around each of my little Bow die-cuts.

I printed the Sentiments. And I’m using the Free ‘Modern Christmas Sentiments’ also printed onto 240gsm Smooth White Card. I trimmed each one approx. 5 1/2cm x 7 1/4cm in size.

Once the Gilding on the Mats was dry, I brushed off the loose Flakes & I was ready to assemble my Cards. I mounted my Mats to my Card Bases using dimensionals, and added a few Sequins & tiny Adhesive Gems to finish.
Although they have a very simple design, and were relatively simple to put together, these Cards have a lovely depth, a nice blend of textures and lots of tiny little details. There's lots to see : )

So ... onto my totals. I had 35 Cards at the end of my last post.
By including today's 3 cards & these 2, I now have 40 Cards.
And about 75% of the crafting on my Christmas To-Make list is now done : )

Love Liz xx
